Melissa Atencia is a Brazilian makeup artist working across film and television, commercials, photoshoots, and social makeup. Based in dynamic Toronto, she collaborates on engaging projects both locally and worldwide.

 

Her journey in makeup began internationally, including time in Los Angeles, where she studied at a Cinema Makeup School and refined her craft within the industry.

 

To Melissa, makeup is more than aesthetics — it is a quiet form of storytelling. Each face carries a history, a mood, and a purpose, and her work focuses on enhancing what is already there with sensitivity, technique, and respect for the narrative being told. Whether on set or working one-on-one, she values precision, collaboration, and a reassuring presence.

 

Melissa speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish fluently.

Her credits include Let’s Scare Julie (Amazon Prime), Elected (Amazon Prime), and Clockwork by Now United (Music Video). She is a permittee with NABET 700 and IATSE 873, where she has contributed daily work to multiple major television productions.
